Thanksgiving Scarecrow On A Wobble
How was your Thanksgiving? Hopefully all went well and your turkey or other main dish was perfect and the family/friend time was memorable!
I have another Thanksgiving card for you, but unlike the elegance of the previous post with the beautiful Fall Leaves embossing folder of Stampin’ Up!, this one is a ‘smile maker’ using a stamp and die from Divinity Designs called ‘Happy Fall’.
The layers are made using the Stampin’ Up! Deckled Rectangles dies, the corn stalks are from Stampin’ Up!’s retired Chick dies and the fence is from the retired Birthday Chick Dies. The pumpkins, flowers, leaves and spring scrolly are leftovers from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, and the inside greeting is from the retired Stampin’ Up! Basket of Wishes. The scarecrow is mounted on a small craft spring (a wobble) from Michaels. The Happy Thanksgiving is part of the Happy Fall set and is embossed with retired Early Espresso embossing powder. The inside greeting is stamped with Early Espresso.
The Soft Suede card stock and the Crushed Curry cardstock die cut with the Deckled Rectangle dies are all current products. The scarecrow was stamped with Memento Black ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends:
- Pants – Dk Seaside Spray, Lt Night of Navy
- Shirt – Dk and Lt Granny Apple Green
- Wood Pole – Bronze
- Belts – Dk Crumb Cake the layered with Lt Daffodil Delight
- Patches – Lt Calypso Coral, Lt Real Red, Lt Highland Heather
- Hat – Lt & Dk Daffodil Delight
- Hat Band – Lt Seaside Spray, Dk Night of Navy, Color Lifter
- Bird Beak – Dk Black
- Bird Nose – Dk Pumpkin Pie
- Face – Ivory, 2 layers, extra on cheeks
- Straw – Dk Mango Melody layered with Lt Crumb Cake
Recipe
- Base: Soft Suede, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
- Outside Layers: Crushed Curry, 4 X 10 1/2, die cut one #7 and one #8 of Deckled Rectangles
- Inside Layers: Crushed Curry, 2 1/2 X 7 1/2, die cut one #3 and one #4 of Deckled Rectangles
- 3 Corn Stalks: Very Vanilla, 3 3/4 X 3 3/4 die cut 3 stalks with Chick Dies and sponge slightly with Crumb Cake
- Fence: Basic Gray, 1 X 4 1/2, cut 2 fences from the Birthday Chick Dies, cut off two posts, sponge with gray
- Scarecrow: Basic White, 4 X 3
The layers are glued directly down to the base, then the fence is added followed by the cornstalks tied together with a piece of linen thread. A craft spring is adhered to the back of the scarecrow and he is placed a little right of center on the card front. The pumpkins, leaves, flowers and the scrolly like embellishment are all pieces from a Paper pumpkin glued on directly to the top layer.
I guess with a spring loaded scarecrow, you don’t need to pop up anything else.
So true!

Thanksgiving Card with gift card holder
Thank you/ Thanksgiving Card
I used the Handmade Wishes stamp set for the greeting on this card.
I tried several coloring techniques with the Leaf Fall embossing folder but liked the embossed look without coloring the best:
I used a combination of gold and copper embossing on the greeting. The outside is gold, the inside is copper.
. Sorry, I still can’t see the difference.
Sigh…… it’s one of those days! The software I use to add the watermark froze up and the camera isn’t catching the colors. But you need to see the Handmade Wishes stamp set before it goes away and, more importantly, you need to see this die:
This Mini Pocket Envelope Die! It is the perfect size for gift cards and look at all the other dies that are included:
A miniature oval, branch of leaves die, scalloped rectangle, tags and tiny dies to punch circles or a slot for twine or ribbon! And check out the little bow you can make with two of the dies. You need this die – trust me – no more manually cutting and scoring to make a gift card holder, it is all done with the die.
Recipe for Thanksgiving Card
- Base: Thick Very Vanilla, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
- Layer 1: Thick Very Vanilla, 4 3/4 X 3 1/2, (X2) outside and inside
- Layer 2: Thick Very Vanilla, 4 1/2 X 3 1/4, embossed with Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder
- Inside Gift Card Holder: Designer Series Paper (retired), 4 1/2 X 5, die cut with Mini Pocket Envelope Die; stamp the very top of the gift card holder in Versa Mark with ‘For You’ from Handmade Wishes and emboss with copper embossing powder.
- Greeting: Very Vanilla, Scrap, stamp with border from Handmade Wishes stamp set in Versa Mark and emboss with gold embossing powder. Stamp ‘Endlessly Grateful’ from Very Best Occasions stamp set and the scrolly from the Handmade Wishes stamp set in Versa Mark and emboss with copper embossing powder. Punch with the Handmade Tag Punch
- 7″ of ribbon folded in thirds and attached to the back of the greeting with glue dots
The small leaves I used on the inside are from the retired Square Pilllowbox dies and the front open leaf, die cut in gold, is from the retired Stitched Seasons Framelits dies. The two leaves at the bottom left of the greeting are from the retired Gathered Leaves Dies with the larger leaf die cut in copper foil and the smaller in brushed metallic foil.
SAL, Share A Love

Gather Together with Nuts About Squirrels
Hello Stamping Friends,
This card is a case of one made by Lezards de Cilou. Hers was made as a much larger card but the idea was great so I made a normal A2 size card,.
Recipe:
Woodtone Designer Series Paper (DSP) is either ‘In Good Taste’ or ‘Beauty Of The Earth’ (Both are in the Annual Catty) or just use Early Espresso and Emboss with the Bark 3D embossing folder.
Stamp Sets: Nuts About Squirrels and Pretty Pumpkins
Inks: Soft Suede- squirrel outlines; Cinnamon Cider for stamping the color of the squirrels; Pumpkin Pie for greetings and one inside little leaf; Cajun Craze for a leaf; Crushed Curry for a leaf; Early Espresso for branches and veins on the leaves.
Blender Pens: Ivory for shading on the squirrels; Bronze for the top of the acorn; Lt Cajun Craze for bottom of acorn.
Marker: Pumpkin Pie to add dots to greetings
Dies: Layering Diorama Dies, Tailored Tag Dies
Embossing Folder: Cracked Paint
- Base: Bumble Bee, 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2.
- Back Piece for a background: Woodtone DSP, 2 1/4 X 3 5/8, this is to be a background for your cutouts. Glue to base.
- Middle layer: Woodtone DSP, 3 5/8 X 4 5/8, die cut with smallest Layering Diorama Die, emboss with the Crackled Paint embossing folder and then distress and sponge the edges with Early Espresso- Turn this layer upside down so your openings are different.
- Very Top Layer: Woodtone Designer Series Paper; 3 7/8 X 4 7/8. Cut with the second from smallest Layering Diorama Die centering about 1 1/2″ top and bottom. Emboss with the Crackled Paint Embossing Folder. Sponge the cut out to add shadows and glue to the back piece you glued on the base.
- Tree Branches at top: DSP from Beauty Of The Earth, 1 3/4 X 4, fussy cut the edges
- Inside Layer: Basic White, 3 7/8 X 4 7/8, Stamp greeting, then the little leaves in bottom corner. The stamp set has a two time stamping for the leaves- the leaves are stamped and then the veins are stamped over top, I used Pumpkin Pie ink, Cajun Craze Ink and Crushed Curry Ink and then stamped the veins in Early Espresso.
- Squirrel, acorns and tree branch – Basic White, 3 3/4 X 5
- Stamp the squirrel outline in Soft Suede twice with the Stamparatus
- Stamp the two step coloring of the squirrels with Cinnamon Cider stamped off once, reinked and stamped off a second time
- Color in the squirrel with Ivory Stampin’ Blends
- Stamp two additional acorns and color with Bronze on the top and Lt. Cajun Craze on the bottom
- Stamp the tree branch with Early Espresso and fussy cut
- Greeting: Basic White, 1 1/2 X 3, Mask half the greeting with sticky note, ink, remove mask and then stamp. The inside gets the other half of the greeting doing the same thing. Then add three little dots with the Pumpkin Pie Marker. Cut the front with the smallest Tailored Tag Die. Hide the circle under the squirrel’s head.
After making a couple I determined the best way to add the layers was dimensionals around the opening of the middle layer and gluing the sides with glue runner or Tombow. Then the top is popped up with adhesive strips.
Using the Layering Diorama Dies is not as complicated as it looks and there are so many creative applications online. The Nuts About Squirrels carries over to next year so that is good news for you demonstrators wanting to use it for your classes.
. That was cool! I bet the others sent you great swap cards as well!
They did and we should take a look so we have a scrapbook of ideas for the future!
Cindy’s card is a wonderful Thanksgiving greeting that you must see even though it is not a swap. Look at the many lovely Designer Series Papers she used and the Pretty Pumpkin stamp, linen thread and gold gems! The pumpkin is glossy and beautiful in real life. I think she used the baby wipe technique for the colors and then embossed with clear embossing powder. It sparkles!
Ann’s beautiful card uses the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, Scalloped Contour Dies and Beautiful Trees dies.
Lori’s helping me with Christmas cards with her swap using the Playful Penguin Designer Series Paper and Misty Moonlight card stock, Layering Diorama Dies, Curvy Christmas sentiment, Christmas Whimsy card kit for star stamp, and fussy cut little creatures from the Designer Series Paper. So cute!!
Jo used the Days To Remember stamp set with the Brushwork Alphabet and lovely Designer Series Paper and sequins:
Joy used a Pale Papaya card base with a layer of Blackberry bliss (love that combo) and then weaved strips of the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper on a Pale Papaya layer embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. She used the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp set with the bundled Detailed Pumpkins dies for the pumpkins and the greeting is from the same set.
Sharon’s card uses fun table name markers from her stash to make a cute Thanksgiving card:
Lucille’s card is lovely with lots of sparkle and stitched leaves on a Bumble Bee base with an Old Olive layer. The ‘hugs’ is die cut and the oval is a stitched oval.
‘A pinch of creativity to spice up your crafting life!’

For The Love of Fall
Hello Stamping Friends,
I do so love fall! However, I would really like fall to come before winter, yet yesterday and today we have had snow here in Castle Rock, CO, so it looks like winter.
Maybe it is all those Christmas cards you are making that brought on winter.
Now Sal, let’s just call it coincidence and Colorado’s unpredictable weather, okay?
We have two fall cards for you today and a Facebook Live video if you prefer videos over words, though the recipes follow.
Someday I will teach Sal to push the ‘Go Live’ and ‘Start Streaming’ buttons so I can look at the camera. I have heard there is a way to edit the Facebook Lives and delete the first part so that is a skill I need to learn.
Before I post the recipes for the cards let’s take a moment to look at the Stampin’ Up! news for the month:
The Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine is available for purchase!
Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
This machine has a wide 6″ (15.2 cm) platform that works with all Stampin’ Up! dies and embossing folders. Includes 1 Base Plate (Plate 1), 1 Die Plate (Plate 2), 2 Cutting Plates (Plate 3), and 1 Specialty Plate (Plate 4). #149653, $120.
Here are four videos (less than two minutes each) to show you the details of the new machine:
Magnetic Cutting Plate
Thin, fully magnetic sheet with self-healing cutting surface. Magnetic Cutting Plate (Plate 5) holds dies securely in place, even nested dies. This slim, portable sheet replaces a Cutting Plate in your sandwich, making it even easier to take with you. Use with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. #149656 $24
What a beautiful machine! The mini version of the machine is not available yet, but we hope soon. All the plates are available to purchase separately and the specialty plate works with our 3D embossing folders just like the blue plate we had in the past.

Simply Thankful
I am casing a card that Rosanne Mulhern of Heartfelt Stampin’ made last year but changing the products to current products and using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes dies to make a pumpkin instead of the Apple Builder punch she used.
- Stamp Set: Country Home
- Punches: Medium Daisy Punch, 3/8″ Circle Punch for the Black Eyed Susan
Dies:
- Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies for the pumpkin and its stem
- Gathered Leaves Dies for the five leaves in different colors
- Banner Blooms Dies for the pumpkin vine
- Forever Flourishing Dies for the little crumb cake accents
- Rectangle Stitched Dies
Did you enter a challenge to see how many dies you could use on one card?
No, I am just stepping out of my comfort zone to make a collage type card. Wait ’til you see the wreath collage I made with the Forever Flourishing dies. Next post!
Recipe for Simply Thankful:
- Base: Basic Black, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Barnwood Layer: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 5 1/4.
- Black Layer: 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 cut with the Rectangle Stitched Die; TIP: use wax paper between the die and the cardstock. Emboss the greeting in white slightly to the right and then use Black Stampin Dimensionals to adhere.
- Pumpkin: Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 2 1/4 X 2, make 2 with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Die using just the handle section not the slot section of the die. Before trimming down to size and making the bottom and top circular, lay one section 1/4″ over top of the second section and score a line following the curve of the section. Repeat on the other side. Score the line, color it with a Pumpkin Pie Marker and then sponge it. Do the same on the second section if you want to choose between the two sections for which one looks best for the top. Cut the bottom and top of each section to shape the pumpkin. Sponge all the edges of both sections and down the middle of the top section. Cut one section in half and glue each half behind the front section.
- Pumpkin Stem: Cinnamon Cider, 2 X 7/8, Cut with the handle of the Die. (This can be run at the same time as the pumpkin sections.) Cut in half, trim off excess and use a crumb cake marker to add a few lines.
- Pumpkin Vine: Garden Green, 1 X 2, make 2 with the Banner Blooms Dies.
- Medium Leaf: Cajun Craze, 2 X 2, the leaves are all cut with the Gathered Leaves Dies. Sponge the veins lightly and then the edges on all the leaves with their corresponding inks.
- Medium Leaf: Old Olive, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Daffodil Delight, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Merry Merlot, 2 X 2, sponge
- Small Leaf: Mango Melody, 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, sponge
- Black Eyed Susan: Mango Melody, 2 X 2 for each Medium Daisy Punch. You need six punched flowers so a 2 X 8 plus a 2 X 4 strip will work. Sponge the center with Mango Melody. Adhere two together with a glue dot.
- Inside of flowers: Early Espresso, 1 X 3, Punch with 3/8″ or 1/2″ circle punch. Adhere with a glue dot.
- Inside Layer: Mango Melody 4 X 5 1/4
- Bottom Strip on Inside: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 1/2.
Now the fun part of creating your collage! Start with the pieces on top of the pumpkin and work to the back. I used glue dots- lots of glue dots!
Other options for making a pumpkin are the Apple Builder Punch or using five circles or five ovals to layer together.
Beautiful Moments
- Stamp Set: Beautiful Moments
- Punch: Moose Punch
- Embossing Folder: Woodland
Dies:
- Circle Die for the frame
- Poinsettia Die for the oak leaf greeting
- Sweet Silhouettes Die for the tree
- Dockside Dies for the grass and cattails
Recipe for Beautiful Moments:
- Base: Cajun Craze, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Aspen Grove Layer: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, Embossed with the Woodlands Folder after the folder is inked on the indent side with Crushed Curry. I turn the ink pad upside down and tap it on the folder.
- Tree: Mango Melody, 3 1/2 X 5, die cut with the Sweet Silhouette Tree Die. Tip: Use two folded up dryer sheets underneath your cardstock to make removing the little bits quite easy since they stick to the dryer sheet. The tree trunk and limbs are colored with the Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend. The far left side of the tree has a limb that will need cut off so you can attach the trunk of the tree with a glue dot at the bottom left behind the circle frame. (I glued that little branch in the inside of the card as you see above.) Adjust the tree so that all the leaves will be inside the card borders. When you are completely done, place a small amount of Tombow glue on the silicon sheet and use a toothpick to add bits of glue to the leaves to attach to the circle.
- Circle Frame: Cajun Craze 4 1/2 X 4 1/2, Die cut with two layered circle dies to create the frame. Sponge the inside and outside of the frame with Cajun Craze and mount the tree at the bottom left behind the circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the frame. You will need a dimensional at the thickest part of the trunk of the tree.
- Green grass and cattails: Pear Pizzaz, 2 1/2 X 3; die cut two grass sections from the Dockside Die. Color the cattails with Early Espresso and sponge the grass with Crumb Cake to give it that end of the summer look.
- Moose: Early Espresso, 2 1/4 X 2, punched with the moose punch and sponged on the edges.
- Greeting: Very Vanilla, 2 1/4 X 1 1/2 , die cut with the leaf in the Poinsettia Dies. Stamp with the “collect beautiful moments” from the Beautiful Moments stamp set, sponge the edge with pumpkin pie, then add an orange rhinestone. Glue to the circle but add a tiny dimensional to the left edge to attach to the aspen grove layer.
- Inside: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, the little tree limb is glued to the inside corner .
Did I forget anything, Sal?
I sure hope not or you will have so many instructions you will lose your audience.
Paul, my DH, looks at these and says “another Karen card”. I keep telling him someday I will learn to make clean and simple cards but I always want to challenge myself. He suggested I call them Carin’ Cards to reflect a Caring Karen. He got a kiss for that! So I decided our team should be called Carin’ Crafters for the caring and sharing card makers that we are and yet a bit of a spoof on Karen vs. Carin’. What do you think?
Take a look around the new shop! We have new software to make the shopping experience better. I will be back soon to post the swaps and mystery cards we made in August.

Blended Seasons with Stitched Seasons Framelits
Hello Stamping Friends,
Introducing ‘Blended Seasons’ with ‘Stitched Seasons’ framelits that have lovely stitching on both the inside and outside of the cut! Amazingly beautiful! Let’s check out some cards made for spring and summer (notice the stitching on the outside of the cut!):
And here are two cards made for fall and Christmas (I love the font on these greetings. Here the stitching is
on the inside of the cut):
These products are available only through August 31!
Isn’t this an amazing way to use all the layers with all the stitching showing?! This card is by Satomi at https://letsmakeacardsatomiwellard.blogspot.com.su. Note the new Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ mini striped ribbon, #146940, and the 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper White, #146912.
Mary Brown’s card is done in awesome colors of pink and green and using the “Tufted” embossing folder, #146335, for a great background.
The leaves in this set are awesome as they look like they are floating to the ground. Satomi made this card as well. Notice the grain stamped on the wood.
I love Christmas bells and this one is perfect especially since it has a framelit to cut it out! Megan Daves’ card is lovely!
Tracy Elsom shows us how to make a quick and easy Christmas tag for gifts and goodies!
That is my fashion show of cards! It is a good thing I don’t have to be a judge and pick just one. They are all beautiful!
I will set up a special event to make three cards- (one with flowers, one with leaves, one for Christmas) free to anyone who purchases the bundle from me. If you are out of state, I will mail you the kits with instructions.
SAL, (Seasons Are Lovely)

Fall Warm Wishes Card with Leaves Acrostic
Hello Stamping Friends,
Thank you to all who were able to take part in the online extravaganza! Now that December is here Stampin’ Up! has closeout specials with some, not all, products on sale for a great price! They have a new category in the online store:
The Year-End Closeout contains the Clearance Rack Items, Holiday Retiring Items, and excess inventory items. Here is a list in an excel file which shows which category each product falls in: clearance, excess or retiring. However, bundles that retire do not mean the stamp and framelits retire, just the bundle with its discount.
year-end-closeout-list
or click on the picture above to go directly to the store where you can see pictures of the products.
While sales are fun, card examples are even more inspiring and I have been slack in posting all the fun cards and techniques we have been doing.
October Club:
I know October seems so long ago and though the card we made is for fall, imagine doing the same Watercolor Wash technique with Christmas colors and making ornaments instead of leaves. Send me an example if you do!
The Watercolor Wash technique comes from a video by Patty Bennett on pattystamps.com
I did a few things differently than Patty. I used the retired spider web embossing folder to emboss the leaves after cutting them out, you could get the same effect by scoring, and I used the retired “Think Happy” stamp set for the little smiles on the leaves, though it would be quite easy to draw them in.
The acrostic was one I wrote when teaching poetry to my third graders one lovely fall afternoon. I wrote the above for the example and then had them all sit outside and write their own acrostic from something they saw, or smelled, or touched, or heard – hopefully not tasted! What a fun memory!
Stampin’ Up’s Watercolor Paper #122959 is 6″ X 9″ and makes enough leaves for two cards. You could also use Shimmery White cardstock #101910. Remember to leave enough room to stamp and punch out your greeting from the paper.
Watercolor Wash Technique
Step 1) Put 4 drops of various reinkers in a paint palette (or a cool whip lid)
I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzaz
Step 2) Wet one side of the paper and then the other side so it lies flat
Step 3) Dip a paintbrush in the ink and then dab it on your paper, wash out the brush and apply a different color,
repeat until the watercolor paper is covered. Let dry.
Step 4) Using Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush #141898 flick gold flecks on your dried sheet by flicking the brush against the edge of its case
Step 5) Cut out your leaves with the Leaflets Framelits #138283 and cut out one leaf with the Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper #142029
-note, cut the leaf with the glimmer side of the paper facing down so the framelit cuts into the white backside to protect your framelit.
The base of the card is Cajun Craze 4 1/4 X 11 Scored at 5 1/2
The Woodland Embossing Folder is used with Very Vanilla card stock 4 X 5 1/4 for a great background to the leaves. I typed the acrostic on Word, making four card insides from one sheet of Very Vanilla.
The greeting is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set (pg. 113) and is punched out of the watercolored paper with the Decorative Label Punch #120907. Remember, stamp first -then punch. A small dab of glue is run around the edges and then the label is dipped in Pumpkin Pie glitter.
A little piece of burlap ribbon #141487 is glued on the Very Vanilla, the leaves are added with glue dots, and a gold ribbon tied on top.
Faux Icing/Snow Technique
The Technique I taught at club came from last spring’s Stampin’ Up! convention where we learned how to make faux icing.
My glitter was not Dazzling Diamonds #133751 so it has a rose tint. Lesson learned! Stay with the best! The cupcake and the tree are from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set, pg. 106. I loved how the ink from the stamped image bled through the ‘icing’ to give the shadowed effect. Be careful that your mixture isn’t too thick or you won’t get that result. If you store the leftover mixture in a jar be sure and add a bit of water to make up for what has evaporated. The Tree Builder Punch #138295 was used for the birds and the cherry on top. I wish you could see the 3D effect of the snowman built from the Owl Punch 5/16″ circle on top of the 3/8″ circle punch.
And finally, I must put in a plug for Paper Pumpkin, the October kit was a set of 8 shaker cards and the kit was exceptional!
Go to paperpumpkin.com to sign up before December 10 and you will receive your kit around Christmas. Last year the December kit was a calendar for each month of the new year with a gold display stand. It was an exceptional kit. Hmmmm…I think I am saying that about all of them!
I will be posting again soon with the details of the Magic Christmas class I held at the first of November and then the Stamp A Stacks held in Elizabeth.
Stay tuned for more….
SAL,
Karen
Grateful For You, Thinking of You
(Click on the little Sal Pal image to go to the main blog)
Hello Stamping Friends,
It isn’t too early to start thinking about the holidays! Accordingly, our September club was all about Thanksgiving… sort of…..
The new Holiday catalog is so full of yummy stamp sets and tools that I was tempted to jump straight to Christmas cards but I didn’t….not exactly….. My first card is the standard for a Thanksgiving card but my second card could actually be used for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. My daughter, Stacia, lives in Steamboat Springs and the snow will be falling at Thanksgiving so the snowy card is perfect for that mountainous world.
Card 1: Grateful For You
And for the inside:
The base of the card is Cajun Craze. The Brick Embossing Folder was used to emboss Very Vanilla paper and then sponged with Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, and Cajun Craze. I sponged and responged until I reached the deep rich color I was after.
The leaves were stamped with the Vintage Leaves on Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry and then cut with the Leaflets Framelits. The “You” comes from the Hello You Thinlits using Early Espresso Card stock and the new Precision Base Plate! No more running the card stock back and forth several times to get a good cut. The plate is a wonderful tool!
The Happy Thanksgiving is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched out with the Word Window punch. The garland is from Thankful Forest Friends and the little leaves are punched out with one of many thinlits in the Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die set. An Early Espresso Candy Dot ties all the colors from the front into the inside. Here are the supplies I used; click on any image to go straight to the store!

Card 2: Thinking of You
This was a fun card and a great introduction to the new holiday catalog. The stamp set with both types of trees is the Happy Scenes stamp set on page 11 of the catalog. It can be bundled with the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies that I used for the window. (Bundling saves you 15% over buying each separately.) I cut out two windows and glued them in the middle to make a nice big picture window. The little dog comes from the Jingle All The Way stamp set on page 12. One of my stampers used the fox from that set for a wild look. The greeting is from the Happy Scenes set and bordered with dazzling diamonds glimmer paper cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. The glimmer paper is a full size banner cut out. The greeting is cut with the same framelit twice to shorten it. I am sure you recognize those apples from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set with its matching Tree Builder punch, and the cupcake base in the stamp set makes a perfect basket when bordered with a tiny bit of Tea Lace Paper Doilies. The little bow is Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine. The scene is stamped on our dotted specialty designer paper to give the look of falling snow. This card uses the symmetrical embossed dotted paper from Sale A Bration but we have a more snowy looking paper on page 142 of the big catalog called the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Paper.
For the inside I just had to play with more products from the catalog:
The greeting is the Six Sayings host set in the holiday catalog (you host and earn the stamp set, I’ll do the work)! See page 51. The snow flakes are from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set, page 25, and punched with the Snow Flurry Punch-another pair you can bundle and save 15%! The Curvy Corner Trio punch is on page 18 and another must have. We were so sad when our little ribbon slide punch retired but now we have it back with two other punches all in one.

Date Change: The next card buffet will be October 17 starting at 10:00.
Seasonally Scattered Thank You Card
Hello Stamping Friends,
The Seasonally Scattered set in the 2014 Holiday Catalog, page 43, is perfect for the Baby Wipe Technique used in this Thank You Card. Do you recognize those leaves and the lovely fall colored bling? No? It is from the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack on page 35 of the Holiday Catalog.
Baby Wipe Technique: Baby Wipes have no alcohol so they are our wet wipe of choice.
1) Protect your surface with the Silicone Craft Sheet (or the lid of a stamp storage box)
2) Place your Baby Wipe on the protective surface
3) Mount your stamp of choice and place it on your wet wipe to determine your outer edges, dry the stamp off
4) Drip drops of ink from various colors of reinkers on the Baby Wipe. You want the colors to run together
5) Stamp
