Hello Stamping Friends,
It is that time of year when we say goodbye to the old and prepare to welcome the new!
The annual catalog will be kapoot as of June 3rd.
Well, it does seem like it, since April feels like it has had about a hundred days and May will seem the same. The good news is that we have a list of products that Stampin’ Up! has shared with us to know what will NOT be in the new catalog.
There is a pdf file with page numbers so you can go page by page or an Excel file to sort the list if you like to work that way. I find the easiest way to see what products are retiring is to go to my online store and click the link on the left side of the page to view all the products by picture. Just be careful not to panic when you see things like the Stampin’ Blends as being discontinued. On the pdf file at the very bottom are these details:
When Stampin’ Up! reconfigures a product, they give it a new number, accordingly they show the old numbered product as discontinued.
Bundles with their 10% discount are always discontinued after their first year of introduction, but that does not mean the stamp set or the punch/framelit with which it is bundled are discontinued.
So look for the stars beside the list of products.
Well, wake up and check out all those products that will be forever gone.

SAL, See A Last glimpse
Hello Stampin’ Friends,
Do I have a treat for you!!! To stay sane (sorta), I had a card swap with my club members and seven people participated.
For me or for you, Sal? I am going a bit stir crazy and not because I am bored. I listed all the projects I have started and all the cleaning and organizing I would like to get done and I could be quarantined for a long long time and not get them all done; but I am just not motivated. Sigh…….
There is lightening and rain out there, Sal. How about let’s show our friends the cards we’ve made and received.
March’s Paper Pumpkin was one of the best ever! It made three card styles x four each. I thought the boot one was kind of odd until I realized that it would perfectly represent the coffee club I have with my neighborhood ladies. I put the initials of each of the neighbors on the top of the boots and left one blank for our dear friend who moved away. I cut away the boot around the leggings and used a greeting from Fable Friends. The kit even had little raindrop embellishments (on the umbrella).
I changed the greeting on the second Paper Pumpkin card and once again used the ‘Fable Friends’ stamp set for the “Happy Spring”. The flower bling is from Frosted Flower Embellishments (#148782) and I covered the heart with Glittery Crystal Effects from the Holiday catalog- you do have some left don’t you? It dries to a beautiful glossy finish.
The third card I pretty much made per instructions:
Okay, not quite, I added rain drops which the instructions didn’t call for. Satisfied, Sal? The flowers have the little rain drop embellishments but they didn’t show up in the picture.
The lined envelopes are like icing on a cake!
Using the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin kit I created my swap card:
No, Sal, those are from the Sale A Bration set ‘The Gangs All Meer’. The “Miss You” greeting is from the ‘Enjoy Life’ stamp set in the annual catalog. The tape measure is narrow silver ribbon from my stash. The boots were stamped on gingham paper and fussy cut. I loved the basket of flowers in the Paper Pumpkin stamp set. It was a two time stamping set so I stamped the entire basket in Soft Suede and then stamped Crushed Curry to color the flowers. What fun!! I colored the leaves with Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends and the background with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. If I made it again I would stamp the basket directly on the blue and then mask it to stamp the clouds and ground around it. That would have saved some coloring and fussy cutting.
Base: Balmy Blue, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Border Layer: Soft Suede, 5 3/8 X 4 1/8 (make 2- one for the inside)
Top: Balmy Blue, 5 1/4 X 4 stamped with clouds, a ground stamp and raindrops
Inside: Whisper White 5 1/4 X 4, sponged just a tad with the sponge roller, then stamped greeting and meerkat in soft suede
Greeting: Whisper White 2 X 1 1/2 cut with the rectangle stitiched framelit to 1 1/4 X 1 5/8, sponged with Balmy Blue and decorated with raindrops from leftover pieces of the Paper Pumpkin. Pop this up with dimensionals.
Boots: 2 X 2 1/2 gingham paper in desired colors (note: the Designer Series Paper shown at the top of Page 168 has gingham in all the different color families.)
Meerkats and flower basket: Whisper White 2 X 4, stamped in soft suede and colored with Stampin’ Blends.
Ribbon: 3 3/4″, marked every 1 1/2 cm with a black journaler so it looked like a ruler. I attached each end under the meerkat arms with a glue dot.
I still smile every time I look at those little meerkats!!
I received another card from Jo that keeps me smiling:
The stamp is from the retired ‘Postcard Pals’ stamp set, isn’t it just the cutest?!
Of course not! Let’s look at swaps.
Some swappers made differing cards so there will be two cards with the same name on some. Thank you, Heather, for putting the names on the card pictures and sending them to the group. We had fun talking about them during a Zoom meeting.
We could all use this one in a frame on our walls:
Aren’t all those beautiful cards wonderfully inspiring?! Such talented, creative crafters. Thank you, friends.
We are having another card swap in May if you would like to join. Cards are due in the mail by May 7th and we will Zoom on May 12th and the 16th. Names and addresses are due to me by this Friday, April 24, and then I will send the list to all the participants Saturday morning bright and early.
SWAP GUIDELINES – deadline to participate is Friday, April 24
- Swap is full cards 5 ½ X 4 ¼
- Include your name and email on a sticky note but don’t stamp your name on the back
- On the same or another note list the main products you used – does NOT have to be Stampin’ Up! (SU)
- Cards should have three layers or two layers and an embellishment
- If your card base is Whisper White or Very Vanilla be sure and use thick Whisper White or Thick Very Vanilla or add an extra layer on the inside for stability
- Mail cards directly to the swappers by Thursday, May 7
- We will have a Zoom meeting Tuesday, May 12, at 9:30
Tomorrow, April 22, the retiring products list will be posted on the website at 1:00
Have your wish lists close at hand because the products won’t last long – especially the retiring In Color products.
I will post the original list but it is a moving target as products sell out.

Hello Stamping Friends,
Hostess code through April 25th: RH4REUGF
Stampin’ Up! is letting us order from a new suite of products that will be in the June annual catalog!
But Sal, we are isolating in our homes and Stampin’ Up! is still delivering fun new products to help us keep our sanity. The home office has set up new schedules to protect their employees who can’t work from home so they stay safe yet are able to process and ship our orders. The shipping is only about one day later than normal. For those of us in Colorado, that means four days instead of three until we receive our crafting supplies.
Watch this Ornate Garden Suite video from the home office:
Checkout this paper with gold foil designs on some of the sheets:
Then you order the suite, Sal! With just one product number they will get it all!
Here is a pdf FLYER if you would like to print it out.
Look at this foil paper with a bit of coloring and the use of two of the border dies and the Old Olive ribbon:
This sample shows the detail of the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder, different Ornate Border Dies and the Terracotta Tile ribbon.
This next sample shows the uniqueness of the large greeting paired with the small words in the Ornate Thanks stamp set. The Ornate Layers Die is used and the long rectangle die in the set will be a nice addition for a longer version of the stitched rectangles. Note the Gilded Gems and the five flowers stamped from the single flower in the Ornate Style Stamp set, fussy cut and then layered on top of each other for a nice edge to the greeting.
And the final sample uses the Ornate Layers dies and that cool corner stamp in the Ornate Style Stamp set. Did you notice the little bit of designer series paper underneath the greeting?
Let’s take a closer look at the samples shown on the flyer. The first two use the single daisy stamp with Ornate Borders:
I had to look twice but the Ornate Thanks stamp set does have the “I’m” stamp shown above. There is a clump of little flowers in the Ornate Style Stamp set and the tiny flowers on the ‘So Grateful’ card used fussy cuts from that stamp. The ‘So Grateful’ card also uses Versa Mark to stamp the scrolly design on the Grapefruit Grove card stock but I couldn’t get it to zoom in enough to show you.
Yes, indeed! Thank you, Stampin’ Up!
