This month we cased Dawn Griffith’s Triangle Corner Pop Up Easel Card!

The bicycle is hidden when you open up the easel so be careful with your design. I had a lot of fun with the bicycle! I used the long, tiny tulip die to create a basket of tulips! I will write my greeting under the ‘thank you’ since I went against protocol and made the bottom left another flower display instead of the place to write a note.
Heather made a fabulous graduation card with beautiful gold embossed paper and black! I love the diploma for the easel stand up!

Joy’s beautiful card uses the ‘Expressions In Ink’ designer series paper. We only have until May 2nd to get discontinuing items, like this DSP, from the annual catalog!

Sharon’s uses the Tea Time stamp set and Tea Together dies- look at the little heart she put on the lid!
Sheri used the ‘Flowering Fields’ DSP and the ‘Simply Succulents’ stamp set for greetings:

Ann used the ‘You’re A Peach’ DSP and the ’Sweet As A Peach Bundle’. Those peaches even look fuzzy! The amazing “Dist ink tive” stamps! These are in the Annual catalog as well so order before May 2.

Jo’s little rabbit made us all smile, and eggs from the Arrange A Wreath set and Wreath Builder Dies were perfect with the paper.

CTC #1 Pocket Card
Good morning, Stamping Friends,
Here is a walk down memory lane for a swiper St. Patrick’s Day card. When you pull the card side to side the pot of gold pops up:
You can click on the image to go to the post for detailed pictured instructions! We can change the images to a current product while maintaining rainbows, shamrocks and a pot of gold!
Now there’s a thought! And we could add a pepper shaker to be your friend!

I made a Valentines Day card since I had all those supplies sitting at my work table, and then I used the same design for February thank you cards. Another sincere thank you to all those who ordered in February! Oops…. That’s why I have you!
I used the ‘Always In My Heart’ stamp set for Be My Valentine on a banner die cut from the Floral Heart Dies. The paper is the ‘Sweet Talk’ Designer Series Paper in the mini catalog. I fussy cut candies for the inside. The Happy Valentine’s Day fits so perfectly in the opening and is from the retired ‘Heartfelt’ stamp set. The ribbon is the Faux Linen Real Red ribbon from the mini catalog.
For the Thank You card and a card for Mom I made these:

The paper is from the ‘Flowering Fields’ designer series paper, also in the mini catalog and I used the ‘Jar of Flowers’ stamp set to make a bouquet the perfect size for the pocket opening. I had a stack of products by the time I finished:
- Delivering Cheer stamp set – shadow under the jar
- Positve Thoughts stamp set – Hugs, Prayers, Love
- Forever Blossoms stamp set – All of me loves all of you
- Prized Peony stamp set – Love & thanks to a dear friend
- Jar of Flowers stamp set – Tulips & stems, jar stamped on a window sheet with stazon ink
- Detailed Bands Dies – cut once in Basic White and once in Fresh Freesia
- Stampin’ Blends – Lt Fresh Freesia, Dk & Lt Soft Succulent, Dk Rich Razzleberry, Lt Highland Heather, Pineapple Punch
To the above CTC instructions I added a Gorgeous Grape belly band permanently attached – 1″ X 8 1/4″, score at 1/4″ and then gently fold to determine where it will wrap on the side, then score that fold.
For the bow on the jar I used a 1/8″ X 4″ strip of Gorgeous Grape and folded in a 45 degree fold to which I added a second 1/8″ X 1 1/2″ strip tucked in at the fold.
I also added a 3 X 4 Basic White piece to go on back of the insert for writing a message, a doily and three little brass butterflies.
. I love the little fussy cut flower laying on the ground in the insert! Nice touch.

Joy used the cut off for the pocket to make a second card and the Layering Ovals punch for two different greetings. She’s using products from the Art Gallery suite.
Sharon did three different cards – the pocket card and then used the pieces for two others. She used the ‘Expressions In Ink’ designer series paper and a paper bow from the ‘Pierced Blooms Dies’.

The gold leaves are foil and just beautiful! I would like a whole pack of just that sheet! The sympathy greeting on Susie’s card is from the ‘Peaceful Moments’ stamp set.
So if you haven’t been making cards with the new set, what have you been doing?
Well, I haven’t been slacking, Sal (Slave driver At Large). October is pastor appreciation month and we have three main pastoral staff at our church so I purchased a nice pen and refill for each of them and then created a Pencil Box. Check it out:

Here is the recipe for future pencil boxes to decorate with whatever you have in your stash:
Pencil Box Recipe
I started by measuring the pen and refill I was putting in the pouch. This takes a 12 X 12 cardstock.
- Base: 10 3/4 X 9 1/4; Score at 4, 4 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 10 1/4
Fold and burnish all your score lines.
Place Tear & Tape on the 1/2″ flap at the right, fold over and corner round the edges.
I used the Crop A Dial to add an eyelet to the flap on two of the pencil pouches, the pink one I just tied with ribbon.
Angle your little side tabs when you cut them for ease and then glue them to the inside.
- First Layer (2): 3 3/4 X 8
- Second Layer (2): 3 1/2 X 7 3/4
- Envelope Flap: Gold Foil, 8 X 1 1/8 corner rounded
- Envelope Flap: DSP, 7 3/4 X 7/8 corner rounded
From there, I found the greetings I wanted and then let the creative juices flow.

Unfortunately, I also needed several sympathy/friend cards. Mary Ann Cowan used Soft Sea Foam on one she had made and it looked soft and comforting. The Hippo Dies gave me the layers and the Forever Fern Stamp Set and Forever Flourishing dies were used for the greenery. The Positive Thoughts stamp set has the ‘Hugs, Prayers, Love” greeting and the set also has the little flourish you see here under the ‘With Sympathy’ greeting from Lasting Lily(retired). The friend card uses the same little flourish and greetings from Welcoming Window (My Sweet Friend) and Seascape (I’m here for you …always).
- Base: Soft Seafoam, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 and 2 1/8
- Layer: Soft Seafoam, 2 X 5 1/4, embossed with Tasteful Textile embossing folder
- Inside: Basic White, 4 X 5 1/4, emboss 2″ on the right hand side with Ornate Floral embossing Folder
- Vellum: 5 1/4 X 4
- Ink: Old Olive, stamped full strength on one leaf and stamped off on the second
- Dies: Forever Flourishing, Hippo Dies
- Stamp Sets: Positive Thoughts, Lasting Lily, Welcoming Window, Seascape
The greeting on the next one is from the Kindness and Compassion stamp set. Very Versailles was used for the vine and the words. The card stock used is Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent. It is so much prettier in real life. The die used is Detailed Bands. The sympathy greeting and rose are from the Painted Glass retired set.

I need a scrapbook to look back on when I am designing cards and even if you are new to stamping, the layout can inspire you. I go to the blog Recipe Box when I need the measurements for a certain fold. Hopefully others find this useful as well. Please leave a comment if you have used the Recipe Box at any time. It is encouraging to know the time spent is valuable.

August Swaps and Mystery Card #15

I do, Sal! And I can’t wait to hear all the other speakers when the videos are posted. We had to choose just one speaker for each session. It was hard to choose since the topics all sounded interesting.
Now– let’s go on to today’s agenda of posting the Mystery card and the swaps from August. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month for club, or for some event I conjure up, and then we meet by Zoom on the fourth Tuesday of the month for a Mystery Card challenge and to share our swaps. September 14 we are having casual crafting at my house to make a Pinwheel Tower Card at 9:30. Prepare your own kit and we will work together to make the cards. The tower card is the new rage on social media and I think every video I have watched uses different measurements. Choose one of the videos you like and make a kit to bring on the 14th at 9:30. I will put on the coffee!
Mystery Card Challenge #15 printable file
Step 1: Adhere the large DSP (Designer Series Paper) section to the front of the card base.
Step 2: Adhere the 1″ scored section of the card base strip at the middle of the inside of the card base 1/8″ over from right
Step 3: Turn the strip of DSP over to its other side and adhere to the neutral 4” X 5 ¼” piece on the right side
Step 4: Adhere the neutral and its DSP on top of the strip glued on in step 2
Step 5: Add a greeting or an image on the strip that folds over the front and decorate
I used the ‘Gingerbread & Peppermint’ DSP from the Mini Catalog and fussy cut out the ornaments and peppermints. If I had purchased the bundle or the entire suite I would have had dies to cut out both. There are five 5! sizes of circles in this die set so imagine the possibilities! Do you know where that tag comes from? It is in the new ‘Pretty Pillow Box Dies’. The greetings are in the ‘Snowman Season Stamp Set’, a carryover in the Annual Catalog.
It isn’t even September and you have a Christmas card made! I am impressed!
It is a record, Sal! Maybe next year I will do a ‘Christmas in July’ like so many others like to do.
Sharon Fincham used the ‘Turtle Friends’ stamp set on retired Whale of A Time DSP. She hooked her flap under the ‘Story Label Punch’ to keep the card shut. Great idea, Sharon.
Heather Guitreau used the ‘In The Wild’ DSP and ‘Big Cats’ dies. She made a great closing flap and used a greeting from the ‘Wild Cats’ stamp set:
She made a second card thinking she needed to follow directions but we all know that the best creativity often happens outside the box!
Joy Meadow’s card uses the ‘Pansy Petals’ DSP with the greeting from the ‘Pansy Patch’ stamp set on a ‘Story Label’ punch.
. Ann Hausmann used the ‘Beautifully Penned’ DSP that is free with a $50 purchase during this round of Sale A Bration which goes through September 30. I love the pop of color on the black and white.
Jo Brooks’ card made me wish I had purchased the Playful Pets DSP from the last catalog. However, we have pets DSP in our new mini called ‘Sweet Stockings’ and it is now on my wish list!

August 2021 Swaps
Jo Brooks used the ‘Stitched Triangle’ dies and for the bouquet of flowers, the stamps in ‘Welcoming Window’. It is the great two step stamping that we love with a stamp for the greenery and another stamp for the flowers. Adding the lace was genius!
. Sharon Fincham used the ‘Turtle Friends’ and ‘Scalloped Contours’ die for this delightful card:

. Joy Meadows used the ‘Pattern Party’ DSP available to hostess’ and the ‘Dragonflies’ punch with lots of added sparkle on the black. Note how she used a flap on the front of the base instead of the standard base. Very cool and shows off both sides of the pretty DSP.

Ann Hausmann found the cutest little lip gloss containers that looked like popsicles at Target and made a fun popsicle card with Very Vanilla and Pool Party. The popsicle images are in the ‘Sweet Ice Cream’ stamp set, retired from the last mini, but Ann hand drew all the faces to match the lip gloss container. You are the cool one, Ann!!
Lori had fun with the ‘Nothing’s Better Than’ stamp set which carried over to the Annual Catalog. She formatted the front words on her computer, printed them on card stock then added the words and images which she cut with her Brother Scan and Cut. The coloring is awesome as she matched the coloring on the words to the colored images. So Creative!

My swap card was a clean and simple card. I wanted to show the swappers the beautiful ‘In Color Shimmer Vellum’ (the pink layer on the card) and the ‘Expressions In Ink’ DSP with its gold foil on the pink that looks like the alcohol ink on vellum technique we just learned. I used the ‘Tailored Tags’ dies with a cutout of gold for the reinforcement ring. The ribbon is the In Color 3/8″ Open Weave ribbon. To get the ribbon to lay on the tag the way I wanted, I used two pieces. I used glue dots to loop the bows on the right and left with nice little tails and then used a second piece and more glue dots to tie a middle around the bow. I secured the knot and the tails of this piece of ribbon on back of the tag. The good sized thanks is in the ‘Artistically Inked’ stamp set. Can you see the shimmer of the pink vellum?

- Base: Thick Basic White, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- Layer: Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum, 5 1/2 X 4 1/4
- Top: Expressions in Ink DSP, 5 1/4 X 4
- Tag: Basic White, 3 1/2 X 1 1/2, die cut with Tailor Made Tag, third from the largest plain tag
- Gold Foil, Scrap, cut with the square reinforcement ring
- Inside Border Strip: Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum, 4 1/4 X 1
- Inside Top Layer: Expressions In Ink DSP, 4 X 3/4
- Embellishment: 3 In Color gems
- Ink: Polished Pink
- Stamp Set: Artistically Inked

Shaded Summer Partial Die Cut & Shadow Stamping

At our July Club we made a special card using the Shaded Summer stamp set and the Summer Shadows dies to do a Partial Die cut and Shadow stamping
Why didn’t you just run the ribbon under the top layer?
Ahh, Sal, I love to find new ways to do things so I have something new to teach my customers. I used a 3/8″ circle punch and punched a little hole on the right side between the images and then, with the card closed, and a pencil line marking a straight line from the right, I punched the left hand side.
Recipe for Shaded Summer Partial Die Cutting and Shadow Stamping
- Stamp Set: Shaded Summer in the Annual Catalog
- Tools:
- Summer Shadow Dies – Free during Sale A Bration with a $100 purchase
- 3/8″ Circle Punch, pencil, ruler, scissors
- Stamparatus
- Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine
- Inks: Evening Evergreen, Craft White
- Base: Just Jade, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
- Top Layer: Experessions In Ink Designer Series Paper (DSP) 4 X 5 1/4
- Inside Layer 1: Mint Macaron, 4 X 5 1/4
- Inside Layer 2: Evening Evergreen, 3 3/4 X 5
- Ribbon: Soft Succulent 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon, 12″
- Embellishments: 3 In Color Jewels
To do a Partial Die Cut on the front:
- Temporarily glue DSP Top Layer flush to the right hand side of front card base.
- Set up Stamparatus to stamp the two Shaded Summer flower images, small at top, larger at bottom, as close as possible to right hand edge. Add the greeting to the stamparatus plate so you can stamp it at the same time.
- Stamp the images with Evening Evergreen until images are dark. If DSP has the darker portion at right it may take three times to stamp the images.
- Pencil a line with a ruler, 1″ over from right hand side. You will line the cutting plates up on this penciled line.
- Make your standard sandwich on the cutting machine with the platform #1, and #2, and then the #3 cutting plate.
- Place your open card on the cutting plate with right side of card base going in head first and secure your dies on the images with sticky notes or tape.
- Place the top cutting plate with its edge on the 1″ penciled line. I found it easiest to go in with the plate from the back of the cutting machine. Hold securely as you start to cut. The plate pops out the back rather hard so don’t have your machine where something could get broken with a flying cutting plate.
- Die cut the images and then fussy cut the sides and middle.
- Take the DSP off base and move over to the left to leave a nice border on the images. Glue in place.
To do Shadow Stamping on inside:
- Use the Stamparatus as above with the two flower images in same place yet position your Evening Evergreen inside layer 1/4″ less than where you positioned your card base, I made lines on the grid sheet so I knew where to line up the base and where to line up the Evening Evergreen remembering that we have a Mint Macaron layer as well.
- Clean off the stamps and then ink them up with Craft White ink and stamp several times.
- Move the card just slightly to the right.
- Clean off the white ink and reink with Evening Evergreen .
- Stamp several times.
- Mount the inside greeting on a separate Stamparatus plate and repeat steps 2-5.
- When you attach your Evening Evergreen layer make sure it is positioned where the inside stamping doesn’t show.
You make it sound really easy!
It is, Sal, and the DSP does the rest of the work to make a beautiful card!

Catalog Launch Extraordinaire
Hello Stamping Friends,
May 4th marked the debut of our new Annual Catalog! It will run through May 2 of 2022.

In celebration I held the annual catalog launch with lots of goodies for the attendees.
They each received a catalog enjoyment kit – commonly called catalog survival kit, but that sounds like it is painful so I called it a catalog enjoyment kit!
Just playing with words again! You love doing that!
Obviously, Sal, that’s why I love blogging!

(If you use this file in another year I suggest changing the green heading colors. I was trying to get Soft Succulent on Evening Evergreen but it was a bit hard to read.)
I found the perfect pouch at Walmart for the catalog and the ‘enjoyment’ kit and taped the above instructions on the outside. The pouch is the perfect size for the catalogs and it is plastic so it will protect the contents.
I couldn’t find the right size of clear envelope for the goodies so I used a page protector, cutting off the binder holes and wrapping the excess around the back. The wish list is a supply item available to demonstrators that is a pack of three wish lists. I used one page from each of the lists. I also added a set of catalog tabs from the supply items available to demonstrators.
There are lots of perks to being a demonstrator. Come talk to me!
I cut a piece of cardstock and used glue dots to attach all the goodies. The pen is from a pack of clear pens (Pentel RSVP brand); a small piece of the new hostess Pattern Party Designer Series Paper with hearts was rolled up and inserted in the pen. I even found emoji bandaids for a cute little smile! They do make individually wrapped lifesavers I found out, and of course Ghirardelli chocolates are a must as they are a tradition at my events.
Not to be rude, but why are you detailing all this?
Well, Sal, the joy of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators is that we CASE things – ‘copy and share everything’, and I have copied many many ideas from other demonstrators so it is only right that I provide ideas for my downline and other demonstrators that might be interested in casing what I have done. Some of my customers might even become demonstrators building a business and need ideas like this.
There are times I think that I am just using my blog as a digital scrapbook for myself and then I realize I haven’t left comments on the blogs that I follow, so perhaps there are those who do use the ideas even though, like me, they never leave comments.
I see, so what else did you do at the catalog launch?
I had a raffle bag, a crossword puzzle scavenger hunt, a make and take card with the new In Colors and the traditional bookmark using the new In Colors and an In Color swatch sheet.
Raffle Bag
The raffle bag included magnets, a shopping bag, a notebook and the bag was a Stampin’ Up! lunch bag. These are all supplies available to demonstrators. The punch is the new ‘Elegant Tag’ punch!
To enter they could complete the crossword puzzle, place an order and receive one ticket for each $10 of merchandise purchased, or purchase a ticket directly for $2.50.
I will draw on Tuesday the 25th at our Zoom meeting!
Take a look at the new In Colors they are so lovely! I loved them all this year and had to have all the inks and the ribbons and the markers and the blends and the paper – oh my! I usually just choose one or two to highlight at the launch but not this year!
This is the bookmark we made using the In Color DSP for little samples on the front. For the back we colored one of the sheets of the black and white Pattern Party Designer Series Paper available to hostesses. We colored the top with blends and the bottom with markers so they could see the difference and get familiar with the colors. (and fall in love with them!)

We did a make ‘n take using the Color and Contour bundle in the new catalog. They chose their color.
In the Catalog section of the demonstrator web site is a test to see which color you are. I am Fresh Freesia according to the test. What do you think? Another fun demonstrator perk!

I have another Mystery Card for you today. Our club members (and guests) meet by Zoom on the last Tuesday of each month and share the cards we have been making along with the swaps we have received, and then some choose to do a Mystery Card challenge. I send out the card cuts ahead of time, everyone chooses colors and papers and greetings and then I walk them through how to put the Mystery Card together.

Here are the ones I made followed by the cards made by those who joined me on Zoom!
I used the Tasteful Labels Dies for the front greeting layers with a Thank You from the ‘Handsomely Suited’ stamp set. The Wishing You The Very Best greeting is in the ‘Friends Are Like Seashells’ stamp set and the STAMPING sentiment is in the ‘Stamping Your Way To The Top’ stamp set. The Designer Series Paper is from a Sale A Bration (SAB) 12 X 12 paper pack. The papers were just beautiful this year. I hope you have more than one pack in your stash!
Joy Meadows used a different DSP from the same 12 X 12 SAB pack and used Glittered Organdy Ribbon. I like how she put a little piece of the ribbon on the top of the insert!
Sharon Fincham added extra layers and used the greeting from ‘Hey Girlfriend’ with beautiful Organdy Striped Ribbon!
. Lori Moore used paper from a different pack of Sale A Bration DSP and cut flowers from the Pretty Perennials stamp set (with dies) in the Jan-June mini catalog and layered the flowers on a Tasteful Labels die.
. Jo Brooks had a designer series paper with a white back so she stamped a design to add beauty! She used the Story Label punch for the greeting.
Do we sell those pretty ribbons?
Yes, Sal, we do and they are carrying forward in the new catalog that starts May 4! There is a wonderful pack of Baker’s Twine in the new catalog as well.

On the last Tuesday of each month I have a Zoom meeting to chit chat with one another, talk about the swap cards we made and do a Mystery Card Challenge. Those challenges started up during COVID and were a fun way to craft together on Zoom.
Does that mean you won’t be doing Mystery Cards in the future?
Good question, Sal! We have one last rotation on this club in April (retirement list!) and then we start all over with a new rotation and new plans for meeting depending on the wishes of the members. Give me a shout out if you want to be part of the new club!
January’s Mystery Card is a great one for using up those little strips of paper you have left from a 6 X 6 DSP after you use a 5 X 4 piece for the front of a card.

Jo made an Easter card! The greeting is from ‘Fable Friends’ stamped and punched with the ‘Story Label’ punch.
I made a thank you card using scraps left over from the Hydrangea Hill paper and Flirty Flamingo:
. I decided to embellish it a little and add another quarter sheet of black on the back of the Flirty Flamingo. I just shaved off a little on each of the sides to give a slight border. I used Versa Mark to make a little flower using a stamp from the ‘Lots of Heart’ stamp set. The Matte Black Dots are on page 11 of the JJ Mini. The scalloped Basic White is cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The ‘thank you’ and the ‘you’re all heart’ are both from the ‘Lots of Heart’ stamp set.
. Since I had left over Sale A Bration DSP from another project, I made another card using the same ‘Lots of Heart’ stamp with all the little dots, I connected the dots to make a smiley face and stamped greetings from the same stamp set. The ‘Thinking of You’ is from the ‘Happy Thoughts’ stamp set and punched out with the ‘Tailored Tag’ punch.
. The ‘Lots of Heart’ stamp set is so versatile you won’t want to label it as just a valentine stamp set. For this next card I used Night of Navy for the base and background layers and I used the edge of my Night of Navy marker to barely color the edge of the greeting.

Thank You Cards
Are you wishing you had a quick and simple card layout for thank you notes? I have one from a Mystery Card Challenge in our Blended Stampers Group on Facebook. I used it for my club Zoom Mystery Card challenge #8.
I used ‘Feels Like Frost’ Designer Series Paper with coordinating bases, the Stitched Nested Labels and Metallic Mesh Ribbon.
‘Love & Thanks to a Dear Friend’ is from the Prized Peony stamp set with an inside greeting of ‘Your sweet friendship refreshes the soul’ also from Prized Peony. The ‘Thank You’ is from ‘Beautiful World’ using a Stampin’ Marker to color just the thank you of the stamp. Note: Always use a marker not a blend when coloring the back of a stamp since the blends are alcohol and would stain the stamp.

Now you can see the trick! You score at halfway-5 1/2 , and again at 6 3/4. Then you glue the 1 1/4″ section between the 5 1/2 and the 6 3/4 scores to the back half of the card. Punch out little notches on this glued section and you have a unique placement for your ribbon. I used the ‘Tailored Tag’ Punch.

Did you overlook the beautiful ‘Touched My Heart’ hostess set in the back of the Annual Catalog? I used it to make Sympathy and Thank You cards in December casing Dawn Michels’ post on Pinterest.

Stamp the heart, the bricks and the greetings in Soft Suede and color the leaves with Just Jade.
The inside greeting is from the set ‘Kindness and Compassion’ which is retired.
What……Breaking your own rule of not using retired products?
Once in a while, what you want to say overrides the self imposed rule!
This was a swap card using ‘His Love’ stamp set. I made it months ago and it has been sitting on my desktop waiting to be posted. It seems a good place to post with these cards since it would be good for encouraging someone.
Base: Mint Macaron, 4 1/4 X 11, Scored at 5 1/2
Layer 1: Ornate Garden DSP in Mint Macaron with Gold Foil, 4 X 5 1/4
Layer 2: Mint Macaron, 3 X 4 1/2
Layer 3: Whisper White, 2 3/4 X 4 1/4, Embossed with Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder
Ribbon: Pool Party Sheer 3/8″ Ribbon, 4″ to wrap the layer and 8″ to make a bow.
Medallion: Die Cut with Tasteful Labels a Large Circle in Gold Foil, 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 needed, a small circle with the Tasteful Labels Die, 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, in Whisper White, and punch a 1 3/8 circle from the matching DSP for the middle of the medallion.
Daisy: Punch a large daisy in the DSP and another with the Gold card stock. Use the small daisy punch with DSP for the top of the daisy and embellish with a Gold Gilded Gem.
For the inside: Stamp off the Bible and then stamp it on the card stock. (This is sometimes called ‘second generation’ stamping- you stamp off your freshly inked stamp on scrap paper before stamping on your card stock to create a lighter image.) Stamp ‘Always’ in full strength ink on top of the Bible.
I hope these cards have given you a ‘pinch of creativity to spice up your crafting world’.

For The Love of Fall

I do so love fall! However, I would really like fall to come before winter, yet yesterday and today we have had snow here in Castle Rock, CO, so it looks like winter.
Maybe it is all those Christmas cards you are making that brought on winter.
Now Sal, let’s just call it coincidence and Colorado’s unpredictable weather, okay?
We have two fall cards for you today and a Facebook Live video if you prefer videos over words, though the recipes follow.
Someday I will teach Sal to push the ‘Go Live’ and ‘Start Streaming’ buttons so I can look at the camera. I have heard there is a way to edit the Facebook Lives and delete the first part so that is a skill I need to learn.

I am casing a card that Rosanne Mulhern of Heartfelt Stampin’ made last year but changing the products to current products and using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes dies to make a pumpkin instead of the Apple Builder punch she used.
- Stamp Set: Country Home
- Punches: Medium Daisy Punch, 3/8″ Circle Punch for the Black Eyed Susan
Dies:
- Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies for the pumpkin and its stem
- Gathered Leaves Dies for the five leaves in different colors
- Banner Blooms Dies for the pumpkin vine
- Forever Flourishing Dies for the little crumb cake accents
- Rectangle Stitched Dies

Recipe for Simply Thankful:
- Base: Basic Black, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Barnwood Layer: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 5 1/4.
- Black Layer: 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 cut with the Rectangle Stitched Die; TIP: use wax paper between the die and the cardstock. Emboss the greeting in white slightly to the right and then use Black Stampin Dimensionals to adhere.
- Pumpkin: Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 2 1/4 X 2, make 2 with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Die using just the handle section not the slot section of the die. Before trimming down to size and making the bottom and top circular, lay one section 1/4″ over top of the second section and score a line following the curve of the section. Repeat on the other side. Score the line, color it with a Pumpkin Pie Marker and then sponge it. Do the same on the second section if you want to choose between the two sections for which one looks best for the top. Cut the bottom and top of each section to shape the pumpkin. Sponge all the edges of both sections and down the middle of the top section. Cut one section in half and glue each half behind the front section.
- Pumpkin Stem: Cinnamon Cider, 2 X 7/8, Cut with the handle of the Die. (This can be run at the same time as the pumpkin sections.) Cut in half, trim off excess and use a crumb cake marker to add a few lines.
- Pumpkin Vine: Garden Green, 1 X 2, make 2 with the Banner Blooms Dies.
- Medium Leaf: Cajun Craze, 2 X 2, the leaves are all cut with the Gathered Leaves Dies. Sponge the veins lightly and then the edges on all the leaves with their corresponding inks.
- Medium Leaf: Old Olive, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Daffodil Delight, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Merry Merlot, 2 X 2, sponge
- Small Leaf: Mango Melody, 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, sponge
- Black Eyed Susan: Mango Melody, 2 X 2 for each Medium Daisy Punch. You need six punched flowers so a 2 X 8 plus a 2 X 4 strip will work. Sponge the center with Mango Melody. Adhere two together with a glue dot.
- Inside of flowers: Early Espresso, 1 X 3, Punch with 3/8″ or 1/2″ circle punch. Adhere with a glue dot.
- Inside Layer: Mango Melody 4 X 5 1/4
- Bottom Strip on Inside: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 1/2.
Now the fun part of creating your collage! Start with the pieces on top of the pumpkin and work to the back. I used glue dots- lots of glue dots!
Other options for making a pumpkin are the Apple Builder Punch or using five circles or five ovals to layer together.

- Circle Die for the frame
- Poinsettia Die for the oak leaf greeting
- Sweet Silhouettes Die for the tree

Recipe for Beautiful Moments:
- Base: Cajun Craze, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Aspen Grove Layer: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, Embossed with the Woodlands Folder after the folder is inked on the indent side with Crushed Curry. I turn the ink pad upside down and tap it on the folder.
- Tree: Mango Melody, 3 1/2 X 5, die cut with the Sweet Silhouette Tree Die. Tip: Use two folded up dryer sheets underneath your cardstock to make removing the little bits quite easy since they stick to the dryer sheet. The tree trunk and limbs are colored with the Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend. The far left side of the tree has a limb that will need cut off so you can attach the trunk of the tree with a glue dot at the bottom left behind the circle frame. (I glued that little branch in the inside of the card as you see above.) Adjust the tree so that all the leaves will be inside the card borders. When you are completely done, place a small amount of Tombow glue on the silicon sheet and use a toothpick to add bits of glue to the leaves to attach to the circle.
- Circle Frame: Cajun Craze 4 1/2 X 4 1/2, Die cut with two layered circle dies to create the frame. Sponge the inside and outside of the frame with Cajun Craze and mount the tree at the bottom left behind the circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the frame. You will need a dimensional at the thickest part of the trunk of the tree.
- Green grass and cattails: Pear Pizzaz, 2 1/2 X 3; die cut two grass sections from the Dockside Die. Color the cattails with Early Espresso and sponge the grass with Crumb Cake to give it that end of the summer look.
- Moose: Early Espresso, 2 1/4 X 2, punched with the moose punch and sponged on the edges.
- Greeting: Very Vanilla, 2 1/4 X 1 1/2 , die cut with the leaf in the Poinsettia Dies. Stamp with the “collect beautiful moments” from the Beautiful Moments stamp set, sponge the edge with pumpkin pie, then add an orange rhinestone. Glue to the circle but add a tiny dimensional to the left edge to attach to the aspen grove layer.
- Inside: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, the little tree limb is glued to the inside corner .
Did I forget anything, Sal?
I sure hope not or you will have so many instructions you will lose your audience.
Paul, my DH, looks at these and says “another Karen card”. I keep telling him someday I will learn to make clean and simple cards but I always want to challenge myself. He suggested I call them Carin’ Cards to reflect a Caring Karen. He got a kiss for that! So I decided our team should be called Carin’ Crafters for the caring and sharing card makers that we are and yet a bit of a spoof on Karen vs. Carin’. What do you think?
