My grandsons came to spend the night and Jaxson’s first words were – “Can we make a card?”\u00a0 You can’t say no to that unless supper is burning!\u00a0 I went to the blog and showed him cards from the Recipe Box to get his creative juices flowing.\u00a0 He saw the turtle cards<\/a> I made for their birthdays a couple years ago and he wanted to make a Ninja turtle card.\u00a0 I have two turtle sets in my Stampin’ Up! stash – ‘Turtle Friends’ and ‘Back On Your Feet’.\u00a0 My heart soared as he said “I want to make it for my brother, I want to say “Best Brother Ever”.\u00a0 So I pulled out ‘Family Reunion’, ‘A Grand Kid’, and ‘Skating By’.\u00a0 Jaxson is seven years old, Emmitt is six.<\/p>\n

I cut him a base of real red with a layer of black.<\/p>\n

He stamped the boy from ‘Skating By’ (thank goodness for a stamparatus) adding the trophy.<\/p>\n

He wanted the turtle on the skate board but facing left.\u00a0 (your guess is as good as mine as to why).\u00a0 While I read my own technique sheet on reversing an image, he said he needed to make sewer pipes for the turtles.\u00a0 (To make the reverse image, you stamp 3 times on a silicon pad using the stamparatus, and then place your card stock on the silicon pad and rub with your chuckie!)\u00a0 Jaxson followed instructions so well!<\/p>\n

That is a tool, Sal, that we use to rub the image on the stamparatus to get even pressure.<\/p>\n

While I fussy cut the turtle image – now in reverse – he colored the boy image and cut out the pipes he had made on copy paper.\u00a0 Then he wanted the turtle to be riding the skate board.\u00a0 So he stamped and I cut out a skate board.<\/p>\n

Jaxson knew the names and colors of their bandanas, though the markers were drying up and giving him grief:<\/p>\n
