Case The Creator #9, Recessed Panel Card
It’s time for another Case The Creator card!
This time we are creating a Recessed Panel Card.
The recessed DSP (designer series paper) on the front is a full size piece so when you open to the inside the back of the DSP is the top of the card and quite nice- just be warned to not use directional papers that might be upside down on the inside!
There are many different versions with different placement of the recessed panel. I chose the dimensions used by France Martin of www.frenchiestamps.com. To access her video click on the pdf file not the screen shot of the dimensions – the video won’t work from the screen shot.
Case The Creator #9 printable pdf file
Screen Shot of Directions
. That’s really cool and I like the picture of the fall card on the directions but what did you use?
That would be helpful, Sal, wouldn’t it?
The Christmas card I made uses the Painted Christmas Paper DSP for the recessed panel. This DSP carried over from last year to the new fall mini catalog, so check your stash, you may have it already!
The base is Evening Evergreen and the mat is Basic White. The greetings on the front are from the Hope & Peace stamp set and dry embossed with White Embossing Powder. The inside greeting is from the same set and stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink.
The holly berries, stamped in real red, and leaves, stamped in garden green, are from Merriest Moments stamp set and Merriest Frames Dies, another carryover from last year that is one of my all time favorite sets. The pine boughs are from Christmas Banner Dies cut from Garden Green cardstock.
Very helpful! Did anyone participate in the challenge.
Indeed they did, Sal! Ann used the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set with Candy Canes Dies and the oh- so- cool Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper. Her card is just beautiful and the green mat and mistletoe bough are perfect with the candy canes! Such a great job!
Do you see what I mean with the back of the DSP panel? A lovely look!
Jo’s card has a recessed panel of many colored candies! She used a punch to cut out even more candies to embellish her card and added glittery snowflakes! So very fun!
Sharon used the smiley moose from our All Bundled Up stamp set! She turned the panel the other way which looks great. I love how the moose scarf is colored to match the DSP! We don’t have a die to cut out the moose so she fussy cut him and then added an oval of gold behind him. Beautiful work!
What’s up at the home office? Surely something is happening!
Yes, Sal, we have ovals back! They are designer ovals as well that will dress up any card. Check out this video from Leana and Holly of the home office:
Did you hear what I heard? The stamp and dies have the same name!
Yes, finally! We have been begging the home office to make life easier on us by naming the dies the same as the stamp set! Hurrah!!
Be warned! The Framed Florets bundle will be available in the Mini Catalog that starts in January but the other products are available only through January 4, 2023. The designer paper can be used year round and is luscious!
You have until November 10 to sign up for November’s Paper Pumpkin! Click on the image to sign up!
. Let’s see…. 50 days left until Christmas and less than that to get those cards mailed.
AAAAHHHHHH……. I better run!

Let’s take a moment to remember those who gave their lives for their country!

May we honor their sacrifice by protecting our freedoms as best we can!
Jo’s card uses many Stampin’ Up! Dies– Celebrate You, Basic Borders, Cross of Hope, Scalloped Contours, and Stitched Stars. What a great card for Memorial Day! Thank you, Jo!

Catalog Launch Fun
Our new annual catalog made its debut May 3rd and it was so hard to decide what to showcase. I love birds and wasn’t sure about the Sweet Songbirds stamp set until I saw a card made by Sue Vine of Miss Pinks Craft Spot with the bird in the air so I went with that idea and voila:
There are two different sets of eyes- open or closed- and two different feet -standing or walking- and a punch to punch out our little songbird! Laura Mellinger of laurasworksofgheart.blogspot.com designed the little nest which was perfect for a party favor!
Let’s check it out (bundled with the punch for 10% off) on page 31 of the annual catalog:
I used the Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes (pg. 137) with strips of the new Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet card stock adhered to the white side which I made the front. The clouds are from the Give It A Whirl Dies! They carried over to the new annual catalog – page 171! The clouds have stitched edges for a fun look and there are hearts and circles and rectangles, a must for your collection, even if you never make a whirly card like I did here.
All the attendees got to see the new In Colors up close and personal as they made their color chart:
Sweet Songbird In Flight Recipe
–Sweet Songbirds stamp set, Songbird Builder Punch
-Base, Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes
-Basic White, 2 3/4″ X 4″; stamp the songbird and then punch out. Stamp and punch an extra belly to make the larger wing. Helpful Hint: Punch the songbird out of scrap to make a template for positioning the stamps on the Stamparatus. Save your template with the stamp set.
-Side Strips X2, 5 1/2″ X 3/8″ in one color for the songbird and one color to match your choice of card
-Basic White scraps, various sizes to die cut clouds with the Whirly Dies
-Baker’s Twine, 12″ and 3 Opal Round embellishments (There is Baker’s Twine to match the In Colors)
-Inks, Memento Black, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Tahitian Tide, Crushed Curry, Sweet Sorbet (Poppy Parade)
Sweet Songbird Favors
-Nest box, Soft Suede, 3X3, score at 1″ and 2″ on both sides, cut from one score line to the other on opposite sides
-Nest, Soft Suede, 2 1/2 X 3, stamp two nests and fussy cut
-Bird, Tahitian Tide 2 X 2 1/4, punch – no stamping, Basic White scrap for belly, Daffodil Delight scrap for beak
-Sign, Basic White, 2 X 2, stamp the post full strength and then the rectangle after stamping off (2nd generation) so the greeting stamps nicely over top, stamp the notes in memento black and fussy cut
May Swaps
I chose the Paradise Palms stamp set and Palm Dies on a background of New Horizons Designer Series Paper (retiring June 30) with a Pale Papaya Base and Basic Black accents. The greeting and birds are from the retired Beautiful Moments stamp set. The coconuts are from the Pebbles Enamel Shapes (Retiring June 30). I added the setting sun and sponged a bit of extra colors in the sky.
I made a vertical book fold with the same palm tree design and a different piece from the same DSP for the inside of the card that looks like a beach with sea foam just coming in!
Horizontal Paradise Palms Recipe
- Base, Pale Papaya, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4
- Layer, Basic Black, 5 3/8 X 3 3/8; 1/16 reveal top and sides
- Top Layer, New Horizons DSP, 5 1/4 X 3 1/4
- Designer Strip, Basic Black, 3/4 X 5 1/2, die cut with Palms Die and center 1/8″ up from bottom and 1/8″ from black layer
- Palm Tree, Basic Black, 2 5/8 X 3 3/8, die cut with Palms Dies
- Greeting and birds, Memento Black Ink; stamp set – Collect Beautiful Moments
- Sun, use a sponge dauber to make a circle in Crushed Curry with a little extra sponged in the sky
- Embellish with Pebbles Enamel Shapes for coconuts and 3 In Color gems on DSP
- Inside Layer, Basic Black, 2 5/8 X 5 3/8
- Inside Top, New Horizons DSP, 2 1/2 X 5 1/4
- Inside Greeting, Memento Black, Paradise Palms Stamp set
Vertical Book Fold Paradise Palms Recipe
- Base, Pale Papaya, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4; Turn 180 degrees and score at 3 3/8″ and 3 3/8 + 1/16, (7/16) for a decorative extra score line
- Layer (X2), Basic Black, 3 1/8 X 5 1/2, this will be flush with top and bottom with 1/16 reveal right and left
- DSP Top Layer (X2), New Horizons, 3 X 5 1/2; Hint: with 3″ in width you can make two from a 6 X 6 which is the goal if you are making multiples. Obviously, a different DSP used for inside.
- Designer Strip, Basic Black, 3/4 X 5 1/2, die cut with Palms Die and center 3/16″ from side and 3/16″ from black layer
- Palm Tree, Basic Black, 2 5/8 X 3 3/8, die cut with Palms Dies
- Grass, Basic Black, 3 1/2 X 1
- Greeting and birds, Memento Black Ink, Stamp set – Collect Beautiful Moments
- Sun, use a sponge dauber to make a circle in Crushed Curry with a little extra sponged in the sky
- Embellish with Pebbles Enamel Shapes for coconuts
- Inside Greeting, Memento Black, Paradise Palms Stamp set
Do you crafters really measure to the 1/16 of an inch?
Well, Sal, we often just eyeball the placement but that doesn’t make for very good instructions.
Let’s look at the swaps from the rest of the group. We saw Jo Brooks’ swap up top so now let’s look at Sharon’s swap using a tea cup very similar to our new tea cup in the Tea Boutique Suite. She uses three layers for the butterfly- a Fresh Freesia base, a Blushing Bride die cut and then tops her butterfly with a vellum die cut and a unique oval gem.
Heather used the Flowering Fields DSP (retiring June 30) and a greeting from the Flowering Tulips stamp set in beautifully layered circles on a gold foil circle. The base is Poppy Parade and she used a corner rounder punch on opposing sides of the DSP for a unique look.
Ann’s swap used embossed strips of the new In Colors on a Crumb Cake base and the greeting from Biggest Wish stamped in Parakeet Party with the ‘happy’ stamped over in Starry Sky. The ribbon is the 1/8″ Metallic Woven ribbon in Orchid Oasis
Lucille Kearin used the DSP with butterflies (retired) and a fun ‘hi’ Die. She embellished with white ribbon and Paper Studio Flowers.
Joy’s card uses the new Nature’s Prints stamp set and Natural Prints Dies. She used the Gray Granite side of the Sun Prints DSP, the Layering Circles Dies, a doily and beautiful gems. You would love the sparkly Wink of Stella she used on the branch but the camera didn’t capture the sparkle. Her gems really sparkled!
You must see the other card she made using the Nature’s Prints Dies! I love the shape of the greeting and had to go look up the dies since I hadn’t even noticed that die. She used the new Fern 3D embossing folder on a base of Starry Sky and then sponged the top lightly with white craft stampin’ ink.
Lori Moore made a slimline card on a white base with Design A Daydream DSP for her first layer and then a layer of embossed Basic White, a layer of Blackberry Bliss with the top layer of Basic White stamped with the Art Gallery stamp set flower in Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry. The leaves and ribbon are Soft Succulent. The greeting is from the Floral Gallery Dies.
Wow, you will have lots of samples to show at your next party!

The tabs for the sheets are at the bottom of the Excel spreadsheet.
Pam also reformatted the home office file as a pdf file so we can look at it that way.

LARGE FONT_Jan-Jun-2021-Mini-Catalog-Last-Chance-Products_discounted PDF File
I bet you had to pay her a lot for those files. It took a lot of work to reformat.
No, Sal, she made them available to all of us on the Facebook Demonstrator page. Thank you, Deb Snyder! “The generous soul will be made rich!”
Stampin’ Up! has a brand new option for kits. They used to have kits in their catalogs but now there is a special website where you can order kits and never be afraid that they are sold out. If it shows on the website –it is available! As kits sell out new kits will be added on a regular basis so check back often!
Stampin’ Up! has taken the guess work out of creativity and done the hard parts, and you get to do the fun stuff: craft! Each kit is all-inclusive and includes the predesigned projects, preprinted pieces, and even the adhesives you need to complete the projects. With some kits you have inks and with others all the parts are preprinted for you. You choose what you like!
Does this mean Paper Pumpkin kits are going away?
Not at all, this is just a different option and some of these first kits are actually popular kits that Paper Pumpkin sold. The nice thing is that you get to see what you are ordering. With Paper Pumpkin your kit is always a surprise and some crafters need to know what they are getting without the surprise. I have found that Paper Pumpkin just keeps getting better and better and the surprise kits are beyond my expectations.

Butterfly Brilliance
Hello Stamping Friends,
Stampin’ Up! has a new offering this month that is so cheerful we won’t be sad about the end of Sale-A-Bration!
Drum Roll………
Butterfly Brilliance Bundle
.
The ‘Butterfly Brilliance’ stamp set and ‘Brilliant Wings Dies’ are a sneak peak of products in the new annual catalog coming May 4! However, the ‘Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper’ and the ‘Natural Touch Specialty Paper’ will only be available through May 3 so get them now and get 10% off the bundle! Use hostess code A3VBV4QZ.
I have openings left at the Stamp A Stack on March 10th at 10:00 or at 1:00. You will make two cards with this bundle and two with the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle. Space is limited to four people per session so sign up soon. Cost is $15. You can also order the card kits from me with full directions and get the bundles online at my store to have the stamps. The Take A Break Tuesday Facebook Live, March 9, 9:30, will guide you through construction of the four cards. Text 303-815-0838 to RSVP for the March 10th event or to order the kits.
Of course!
This is a unique stamp set with dies. All the butterflies are connected on the cling stamp and one of the dies has all the butterflies connected as well, so you can stamp them and then cut them out with one fell swoosh of the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. The dies also have the individual butterflies to cut them out in beautiful detail.
Even better is the designer series paper with sheets of paper that have the butterflies perfectly aligned on the sheets to cut out with the die. There are 8 sheets per design so you will have lots of butterflies from the paper before you need to stamp butterflies. Of course some of the other designs on the paper have a beautiful water color look and you may want to stamp your butterflies and water color them to match! So many options with this special set offered just in time for spring (March 20) and Easter (April 4).
Here’s another look at the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick Bundles we will be using at the Stamp A Stack:
Hey, I see a little baby chick in those dies that is an extra die beyond the stamps!
He is cute Sal, and the Happy Birthday die and streamers can be used on many cards! Of course we could build a whole barnyard scene with the fence and chicken coop, chicken wire, and corn stalks! Check out these samples and visit Pinterest for more…
Join me March 10 to make two butterfly and two chick cards!
Use hostess code A3VBV4QZ if you would like to order these this month!

Hey Chick is Back and more!
Hello Stamping Friends,
Several years back during Sale-A-Bration we had a very popular stamp set called Hey Chick! Stampin’ Up! has brought it back –with dies! Not only are they offering dies for that stamp set they are now offering dies for the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set in the JJ mini! Take a look see…
There really are chickens with feathers on their head. This picture is a Polish Crested Chicken.
Isn’t it cute!!
. Thanks for the lesson; many of us have learned something new. Now can we go back to those dies?
Those dies are definitely fun! My favorite is the corn stalk, or maybe the cut out Happy Birthday or maybe the chicken wire or the fence or that cool die that looks like twisted crepe paper to decorate for a party or…….
All right all ready! You just need them all!
Yes, and because I am a demonstrator, I could order them a month before they were available to the public. Want to join my team of Carin’ Crafters? We have a new preorder starting this month for a special butterfly suite you won’t want to miss. Click Here To Join
Here are a few samples from the home office:
. Whew….that fast forward video made me dizzy.
But wasn’t it fun! Shall we hire chickens to hold down our helium balloons at the next party?
Like the fuzzy headed one? Can we keep him?
Not a good idea. Thank you friends for spending some of your time with me today. I hope you are smiling by now!
February host code is: TMARBUUM. Use this code for club orders or if your order is under $150. At $150 you will get the hostess rewards yourself. Do you remember Stampin’ Up! ever bringing back a stamp that was retired years ago?
For The Love of Fall
Hello Stamping Friends,
I do so love fall! However, I would really like fall to come before winter, yet yesterday and today we have had snow here in Castle Rock, CO, so it looks like winter.
Maybe it is all those Christmas cards you are making that brought on winter.
Now Sal, let’s just call it coincidence and Colorado’s unpredictable weather, okay?
We have two fall cards for you today and a Facebook Live video if you prefer videos over words, though the recipes follow.
Someday I will teach Sal to push the ‘Go Live’ and ‘Start Streaming’ buttons so I can look at the camera. I have heard there is a way to edit the Facebook Lives and delete the first part so that is a skill I need to learn.
Before I post the recipes for the cards let’s take a moment to look at the Stampin’ Up! news for the month:
The Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine is available for purchase!
Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
This machine has a wide 6″ (15.2 cm) platform that works with all Stampin’ Up! dies and embossing folders. Includes 1 Base Plate (Plate 1), 1 Die Plate (Plate 2), 2 Cutting Plates (Plate 3), and 1 Specialty Plate (Plate 4). #149653, $120.
Here are four videos (less than two minutes each) to show you the details of the new machine:
Magnetic Cutting Plate
Thin, fully magnetic sheet with self-healing cutting surface. Magnetic Cutting Plate (Plate 5) holds dies securely in place, even nested dies. This slim, portable sheet replaces a Cutting Plate in your sandwich, making it even easier to take with you. Use with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. #149656 $24
What a beautiful machine! The mini version of the machine is not available yet, but we hope soon. All the plates are available to purchase separately and the specialty plate works with our 3D embossing folders just like the blue plate we had in the past.

Simply Thankful
I am casing a card that Rosanne Mulhern of Heartfelt Stampin’ made last year but changing the products to current products and using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes dies to make a pumpkin instead of the Apple Builder punch she used.
- Stamp Set: Country Home
- Punches: Medium Daisy Punch, 3/8″ Circle Punch for the Black Eyed Susan
Dies:
- Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies for the pumpkin and its stem
- Gathered Leaves Dies for the five leaves in different colors
- Banner Blooms Dies for the pumpkin vine
- Forever Flourishing Dies for the little crumb cake accents
- Rectangle Stitched Dies
Did you enter a challenge to see how many dies you could use on one card?
No, I am just stepping out of my comfort zone to make a collage type card. Wait ’til you see the wreath collage I made with the Forever Flourishing dies. Next post!
Recipe for Simply Thankful:
- Base: Basic Black, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Barnwood Layer: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 5 1/4.
- Black Layer: 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 cut with the Rectangle Stitched Die; TIP: use wax paper between the die and the cardstock. Emboss the greeting in white slightly to the right and then use Black Stampin Dimensionals to adhere.
- Pumpkin: Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 2 1/4 X 2, make 2 with the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Die using just the handle section not the slot section of the die. Before trimming down to size and making the bottom and top circular, lay one section 1/4″ over top of the second section and score a line following the curve of the section. Repeat on the other side. Score the line, color it with a Pumpkin Pie Marker and then sponge it. Do the same on the second section if you want to choose between the two sections for which one looks best for the top. Cut the bottom and top of each section to shape the pumpkin. Sponge all the edges of both sections and down the middle of the top section. Cut one section in half and glue each half behind the front section.
- Pumpkin Stem: Cinnamon Cider, 2 X 7/8, Cut with the handle of the Die. (This can be run at the same time as the pumpkin sections.) Cut in half, trim off excess and use a crumb cake marker to add a few lines.
- Pumpkin Vine: Garden Green, 1 X 2, make 2 with the Banner Blooms Dies.
- Medium Leaf: Cajun Craze, 2 X 2, the leaves are all cut with the Gathered Leaves Dies. Sponge the veins lightly and then the edges on all the leaves with their corresponding inks.
- Medium Leaf: Old Olive, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Daffodil Delight, 2 X 2, sponge
- Large Leaf: Merry Merlot, 2 X 2, sponge
- Small Leaf: Mango Melody, 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, sponge
- Black Eyed Susan: Mango Melody, 2 X 2 for each Medium Daisy Punch. You need six punched flowers so a 2 X 8 plus a 2 X 4 strip will work. Sponge the center with Mango Melody. Adhere two together with a glue dot.
- Inside of flowers: Early Espresso, 1 X 3, Punch with 3/8″ or 1/2″ circle punch. Adhere with a glue dot.
- Inside Layer: Mango Melody 4 X 5 1/4
- Bottom Strip on Inside: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), 4 X 1/2.
Now the fun part of creating your collage! Start with the pieces on top of the pumpkin and work to the back. I used glue dots- lots of glue dots!
Other options for making a pumpkin are the Apple Builder Punch or using five circles or five ovals to layer together.
Beautiful Moments
- Stamp Set: Beautiful Moments
- Punch: Moose Punch
- Embossing Folder: Woodland
Dies:
- Circle Die for the frame
- Poinsettia Die for the oak leaf greeting
- Sweet Silhouettes Die for the tree
- Dockside Dies for the grass and cattails
Recipe for Beautiful Moments:
- Base: Cajun Craze, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
- Aspen Grove Layer: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, Embossed with the Woodlands Folder after the folder is inked on the indent side with Crushed Curry. I turn the ink pad upside down and tap it on the folder.
- Tree: Mango Melody, 3 1/2 X 5, die cut with the Sweet Silhouette Tree Die. Tip: Use two folded up dryer sheets underneath your cardstock to make removing the little bits quite easy since they stick to the dryer sheet. The tree trunk and limbs are colored with the Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend. The far left side of the tree has a limb that will need cut off so you can attach the trunk of the tree with a glue dot at the bottom left behind the circle frame. (I glued that little branch in the inside of the card as you see above.) Adjust the tree so that all the leaves will be inside the card borders. When you are completely done, place a small amount of Tombow glue on the silicon sheet and use a toothpick to add bits of glue to the leaves to attach to the circle.
- Circle Frame: Cajun Craze 4 1/2 X 4 1/2, Die cut with two layered circle dies to create the frame. Sponge the inside and outside of the frame with Cajun Craze and mount the tree at the bottom left behind the circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the frame. You will need a dimensional at the thickest part of the trunk of the tree.
- Green grass and cattails: Pear Pizzaz, 2 1/2 X 3; die cut two grass sections from the Dockside Die. Color the cattails with Early Espresso and sponge the grass with Crumb Cake to give it that end of the summer look.
- Moose: Early Espresso, 2 1/4 X 2, punched with the moose punch and sponged on the edges.
- Greeting: Very Vanilla, 2 1/4 X 1 1/2 , die cut with the leaf in the Poinsettia Dies. Stamp with the “collect beautiful moments” from the Beautiful Moments stamp set, sponge the edge with pumpkin pie, then add an orange rhinestone. Glue to the circle but add a tiny dimensional to the left edge to attach to the aspen grove layer.
- Inside: Very Vanilla, 4 X 5 1/4, the little tree limb is glued to the inside corner .
Did I forget anything, Sal?
I sure hope not or you will have so many instructions you will lose your audience.
Paul, my DH, looks at these and says “another Karen card”. I keep telling him someday I will learn to make clean and simple cards but I always want to challenge myself. He suggested I call them Carin’ Cards to reflect a Caring Karen. He got a kiss for that! So I decided our team should be called Carin’ Crafters for the caring and sharing card makers that we are and yet a bit of a spoof on Karen vs. Carin’. What do you think?
Take a look around the new shop! We have new software to make the shopping experience better. I will be back soon to post the swaps and mystery cards we made in August.
SAL, Sighing A Lot as summer leaves us

Ornate Garden Suite
Hello Stamping Friends,
Hostess code through April 25th: RH4REUGF
Stampin’ Up! is letting us order from a new suite of products that will be in the June annual catalog!
Uh oh…… I see lots of daisies – better grab the checkbook, Dad, or the grocery money will be gone!
But Sal, we are isolating in our homes and Stampin’ Up! is still delivering fun new products to help us keep our sanity. The home office has set up new schedules to protect their employees who can’t work from home so they stay safe yet are able to process and ship our orders. The shipping is only about one day later than normal. For those of us in Colorado, that means four days instead of three until we receive our crafting supplies.
Watch this Ornate Garden Suite video from the home office:
Checkout this paper with gold foil designs on some of the sheets:
That’s a lot to choose from. What if they need (want) it all?
Then you order the suite, Sal! With just one product number they will get it all!
Here is a pdf FLYER if you would like to print it out.
Look at this foil paper with a bit of coloring and the use of two of the border dies and the Old Olive ribbon:
This sample shows the detail of the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder, different Ornate Border Dies and the Terracotta Tile ribbon.
This next sample shows the uniqueness of the large greeting paired with the small words in the Ornate Thanks stamp set. The Ornate Layers Die is used and the long rectangle die in the set will be a nice addition for a longer version of the stitched rectangles. Note the Gilded Gems and the five flowers stamped from the single flower in the Ornate Style Stamp set, fussy cut and then layered on top of each other for a nice edge to the greeting.
And the final sample uses the Ornate Layers dies and that cool corner stamp in the Ornate Style Stamp set. Did you notice the little bit of designer series paper underneath the greeting?
Let’s take a closer look at the samples shown on the flyer. The first two use the single daisy stamp with Ornate Borders:
I had to look twice but the Ornate Thanks stamp set does have the “I’m” stamp shown above. There is a clump of little flowers in the Ornate Style Stamp set and the tiny flowers on the ‘So Grateful’ card used fussy cuts from that stamp. The ‘So Grateful’ card also uses Versa Mark to stamp the scrolly design on the Grapefruit Grove card stock but I couldn’t get it to zoom in enough to show you.
Those samples use every stamp in the Ornate Style Stamp set!!
Yes, indeed! Thank you, Stampin’ Up!

Sending Flowers Dies & Sale A Bration New Products Release Today
Hello Stamping Friends,
Hostess Code for Wednesday, March 11: TAAMWPTR
Hostess Code for Saturday, March 14: K2YHG6BG
Today, March 3, is the start of the ordering period for the new Sale A Bration Products free with a $50 or $100 order.
Click on the image for a pdf of the new brochure. Previous Sale A Bration items are listed in the last pages of the brochure.
I’m confused. Isn’t Sale A Bration over at the end of March?
Tradition, Sal, tradition. We want to keep the fun of the event going by offering more products as we have done in past years. One year they even added additional products the last week of Sale A Bration. Who knows? I will keep you posted.
My favorite is this Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. Click on the image to view a Youtube video:
Click on either image to see a Youtube video demonstrating this product and then click on the vellum image to meet Holly and see the paper she developed in vellum:
Wow! Holly was really over the top excited about that vellum!
Yes, she is and she is so fun! That is the last product video but there are two other products:
And you made lots of examples to show us, right?
Thankfully, the videos have several examples and in two days Pinterest will be buzzing with all the new cards.
I do have one card to show you using the Sale A Bration ‘Sending You Thoughts’ free stamp set and its coordinating ‘Sending Flowers Dies’.
But that stamp set doesn’t have any flowers to cut out?!
No, but the dies have two labels which fit some of the greetings perfectly, one label is scalloped and one label has polka dots for all my polka dot loving stampers. Take a look see:
The background paper is a foil paper in the ‘From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper’ (DSP) in the mini catalog. The picture doesn’t do the foil justice.
Instructions
Base: Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 Scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1: DSP (Designer Series Paper) 4 X 4
Top Layer: Thick Whisper White 4 1/8 X 5 3/8; Place the die 3/8″ up from bottom
Greeting: Whisper White strip 3/8 X 2 3/4
Backing for greeting and inside strip on bottom: DSP 3 3/4 X 2
Ribbon: 6″
This is such a great set of greetings, and it is free with a $50 order. My last post showed a get well card with this stamp set and a happy birthday card.
If you make a graduation card and thank you card, you will have used every stamp in the set!
Yes indeed, which makes it a nice set of greetings to add to the collection!

Stampin’ Up! has some incredible coordinating products to make our projects stunning ( and easier)! There is a video at the end of this post with clear examples. The products are available on February 4th and will probably sell out quickly so mark your calendars and have your order ready to input! Call me if you need assistance. Use the hostess code above if your order is under $150 or be the first person to call me to host a workshop in February and I will assign the code to you. Demonstrators can order one of each of these products right now. I can help you sign up to be a demonstrator if you would like to be part of the team and buy products at a discount and be first to see (and purchase) new products.
Host a workshop in February and we will make any two of the above projects!

Click HERE to place an online order to subscribe for more than one month.
